Annual LA vs OC team competition !!
This is a four ball, team match play tournament between Orange County and Los Angeles Chapters of EWGA. Each chapter will field a team of 24 players, and all members with a handicap index are eligible to play and are selected on a first come, first served basis. Each competitor will be assigned a
cart partner from her chapter and will play against two from the other Chapter. All players play their own ball, thus the name Four Ball. Each team will
record the gross score for each player, then, select the lowest gross and, if the team has
a pop, adjust the gross down to the net and record the net score for the team. This
score is compared to the competitor team's net score to determine who won the hole. One point goes to the team that won the hole, and on-half a point goes to each team if they tie the hole. At the end of 18 holes, the team with the most points wins one point for her chapter, and if the score is tied each team wins one-half point for her chapter. Chapter with most points wins the Cup and bragging rights for another year. Orange County has won the past two years. There will be an awards dinner after the golf allowing for plenty of inter-chapter socializing.
