Get Ready! Our annual chapter championship is set for Saturday May 17 at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Course . This event is a wonderful and fun competition for golfers of all levels. You only need to be a member and have a USGA Handicap index to sign up and have posted at least three 18-hole rounds in the three month period prior to the Tournament. The Chapter Championship is one of the biggest events of the year and the Championship Committee would like you to be a part of it. We will serving hors d'oevres and having a no host open bar after the competition as we present the awards. It makes for a great day of golf and EWGA fellowship. So come out and have fun with your club!
Play stroke or scramble ! Individual stroke play competition is grouped into five index-based flights, which means you play and compete only with ladies at about the same level as yourself. The handicap ranges for each flight are given below. Or you can get together a scramble team and play as a foresome in the scramble competition. For scramble teams, each competitor in the team is assigned points based on her current index, and then the sum of these points for the whole team must lie between -4 and +4. The final team score is then adjusted by this sum.

Make Note: For individual stroke play, the players in the Championship and 1st Flight will play from Arroyo Trabuco RED tees, and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Flight Players will play from the GOLD tees. For the scramble teams, all players with handicap index factors from 0 to +3 will play from the RED tees. Scramble team players with handicap index factors of -1 or -2 will play from the GOLD tees.
| Trophy awards are given out to the players with best gross and net scores from each flight as well as the winning scramble team. In addition, first place low gross and low net players from each of the flights as well as the winning scramble team can advance to Regional Play, which will be held this year July 12 in Arizona. Here they compete against players from Southern CA, Nevada, and Arizona. Final stop is the EWGA National Championship which is in Oregon this year. |

To Register, first Click here to sign up and pay on line via SPORG. In addition to registering through SPORG, you must complete the following Official Registration Form and send it to Kitty Curley. She must receive this form no later than April 28 (no exceptions). You will not be officially registered until Kitty receives this form. Make sure to attach a copy of your handicap index to the form.The most expeditious way to get it to Kitty is to scan and e-mail the official form to kittythegolfer@verizon.net . Eligibility Requirements: In order to compete in the event, participants must
- be an EWGA Chapter member in good standing. Good standing means: Registrants must be EWGA Chapter members with current membership processed and on record at AHQ prior to registration into the Chapter Championship and have dues paid current at the time of registration into the Championship Series and at any level of advancement in the competition, AND
- be a Female amateur golfers AND
- have a verifiable Handicap Index not to exceed 40.4 at time of registration into the Chapter Championship. (i.e. - handicap indices of 40.4+ cannot particpate in stroke play.)
- have at least three 18-hole or six 9-hole rounds (or a combination thereof) posted in the three month period prior to final handicap revision date preceding the Chapter Championships.Those registrants who don't meet these requirements will have their scoring record reviewed by the Chapter Championship Committee and adjusted if necessary.
